Twitter and CRM integration
In response to a Twitter-based question… which CRMs integrate with Twitter. Firstly, let me point out, I am not a techie. I’m interested in CRM and related technology because of how it can be applied, the user experience and how it is used in sales and marketing. Inevitably I’ve learnt some tech stuff in order to understand that but it’s not my expertise.
The answer is, quite a few CRMs integrate with Twitter. Biggies like salesforce.com and MS Dynamics, and then social-media focused CRMs like Bantamlive and Doorbell. But if you’re interested in this, check out what the CRM seller means by “integrate” – same goes for all social media integrated CRMs. It could be a “window” in the contact record that includes your contacts twitter posts, it could be a “brand monitoring” service that looks for references to your company and then presents those Twitters to you so you can respond. If the Twitter API can push it out, your API-compatible CRM will be able to suck it in I imagine.
If you want to connect your contacts in your CRM with their Twitter profile, you probably need to manually create that connection if you want to be sure you connect the right people together in you CRM and from Twitter. It seems to me you want that and the ability to push potential leads into your CRM if their Twitters or followers/following matches some profiles. That’s advanced stuff but probably the future.
I would recommend you get a CRM that is capable of API integration and talk to your pet web developer to see what the Twitter API and your CRM can do. Use your imagination and let the tech guys tell you if it can be done.
Always interested to hear views on this and what people are doing. Either via the blog or Twitter @CompareCRM or directly.
